Baby on Board

In November 2017 I started the process of re-branding my general personal training business to be a Pregnancy and post-natal training business only. I had laid out plans for my next 12 months and set goals for myself business wise as well as personally. It wasn’t too long after I committed to this process that I found out myself and my husband were expecting our first bundle of joy! While we were excited to learn of the news and start this next chapter of our lives, we weren’t planning this and we did have to get use to the idea, as well as recalculate our plans.

My Goal of taking my time to set up the business properly, build a name for myself and get it out there to the mums of Perth was suddenly put in jeopardy. I toyed with the idea of holding off until I returned to work after pregnancy, but I decided Perth needed this service, and what better way to bring attention to training through pregnancy than when I am pregnant myself.

Since falling pregnant I have been amazed at how many people around me have been asking me (a personal trainer with a fit and healthy history), if I should be running, lifting that, working out, and even working… I want to help start a movement to shut off these old assumptions and show people that with the right exercise prescription you can be mobile and strong throughout your pregnancy. Not only that, if you do exercise properly you will have less complications through your pregnancy and even your birth!

My pregnancy has already taught me a lot about going through the processes I have learnt about, seen others go through and talked about. I have been able to find ways to deal with small things and improve my wellbeing. I cant wait to be able to pass my experience on to other women and support them through the stages. While I obviously plan to take a break from work after delivering my own baby in August this year, I aim to have someone to take over my clients for that period and work alongside me after my return. By the end of 2018 Bump Out Fitness will be a strong and trusted force, empowering and strengthening women through pregnancy and in their recovery post delivery.

My year may not be what I originally planned out but I refuse to let my end goal get further away from me. Take this dive with me and follow Bump Out Fitness on Instagram, Facebook or this blog, and help me spread the word, teach everyone, and grow awareness of staying fit and strong through pregnancy.

Yours sincerely,

Brooke Jacobs- Bump Out Fitness
