Why You Should Train During Pregnancy

The best medicine is prevention, and the best prevention for so many illnesses and ailments is exercise!

In a recent special edition issue from Time Magazine titled The Science of Exercise, a Sports Medicine Physician, Jordan Metzi spoke about “the incredible medicine of movement”. In this Article Metzi discusses how the US health care system (very similar to the Austrlian), is focused on “sick care” for an increasingly unhealthy population, instead of focusing on prevention to avoid the sickness in the first place.

So how does this translate to pre-and post-natal training?
Well quite simply, a lot of complications arise during pregnancy and beyond when your body is not able to deal with the stresses being placed upon it. Gestational diabetes, pelvic organ prolapses, aching back and joints, diastasis recti and hernias, the list goes on of serious issues that can be helped and prevented from a healthy lifestyle including exercise and good nutrition. However,… Not just any exercise can cut it during pregnancy. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things happening you need to be aware of and there are a lot of complications that could arise from doing the wrong thing, which is why no one should really enter training during pregnancy or immediately after without proper instruction.

With knowledge and proper instruction, you can stay happy, healthy and super mobile through to the end of your pregnancy. The full list of benefits can be found on our webpage but they truly have to b experienced to be believed.

These are the reasons why you should consider training, and training with a qualified specialist such as Bump Out Fitness.
